The GLUE Crew has a combined 20+ years of tournament organizing experience across all varieties of events: large tournaments, small tournaments, hat tournaments, social events, and more!
GLUE was started with the dream that all tournaments can be fun, well run, and memorable events. We have ambitious plans to pursue that dream by scaling our events and team across the country; we are currently operating in the Midwest and North East.

The GLUE Crew
Nick has been playing ultimate since 2007 and got his start in the sport by founding the ultimate club at Mahtomedi High School He went on to play ultimate at Valparaiso University where he captained the team for two years. After graduating, Nick moved to Chicago where he joined the local club and league scene, playing for IBEX, Mixed Reaction, and Beachfront Property. When he isn't playing, Nick also takes pictures for UltiPhotos.
Gabe joined Valparaiso's ultimate team in 2013 and has been part of the community ever since. After playing in club and leagues in the Cleveland area for a few years, he joined Chicago's Beachfront Property in 2016. He has been president at Valpo for 3 years and has contributed to growing the team to the most successful it has ever been.
Cody has been playing ultimate since 2009. He started playing at Bradley University and captained the team for 3 years. After graduating, Cody moved to Chicago joining the local club and league scene. When not playing in a league or on a club team, Cody is searching for more hat tournaments to play in or playing with his favorite pick-up team, Risky Bidness. Favorite Tournament: Om Nom Hat or Trouble In Vegas.
Angelo has been playing ultimate for 9 years and got his start playing unorganized pick up at the park near his house. He then went on to Bradley University where he played competitively for 4.5 years. After graduating from Bradley he founded Jabba the Huck with Steve Janda, continuing to captain it the next year with Amy Copper. In 2017, Angelo worked with the Chicago Wildfire to build their pre-game experience and ran tailgating events at all of their home games. He has enjoyed being a club player since moving to Chicago, but now Angelo is focused on building up the Chicago Ultimate Community.
Erika has been around ultimate since high school and she can't get enough of it. After captaining the Valparaiso University women's team to three consecutive DIII Nationals appearances, she graduated and moved to Chicago where she began working for VC Ultimate. Now Erika travels the world with VC/Spin working events and managing their social relations.
Brett Alan Porter
Brett started his ultimate career at Illinois State University in 2007. After leaving Illinois State after only a year and a half he found himself unable to leave the sport behind. He played for pick up teams including Risky Bidness and Chicago Assorted (CHI ASS) as well as picking up with college teams including Eastern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Bradley, Northern Illinois, and Depaul. In 2011 - 2012 Brett played with the North Park Natives and recently he has played for Ascension.
Joe started his formal playing career in 2007 at University of Illinois. Aside from his college experience, he has played for a handful of club teams and captained a few summer league teams. He is the president and a founding member of Black Market Ultimate. Favorite Tournament: Windmill.
Tim started playing ultimate over the summers while in college at Olivet Nazarene University, formally learning the game while studying abroad at Oxford in the fall 2010 semester and playing for Olivet's Black Penguins before graduating in 2011. Since graduation he has continued playing in year-round groups in the Chicago suburbs and the occasional tournament with the Black Penguins alumni. Since April of 2014 he has worked with the Black Penguins in a variety of capacities from photographer to chaplain but nowadays is mostly referred to as "Team Mom".
(Andrew) Maturo got his start at ultimate back in 2006 at Cranford High School. He continued to play at Gettysburg College both in open and mixed. In his summers, he helped found a summer league, Cranford Ultimate Frisbee Association, which has been running since 2007. During his study abroad experience, he was fortunate enough to play with a few mixed Australian teams all the way to Nationals in 2010. After a one year hiatus, he moved to Indianapolis where he helped coach a college team during graduate school at IUPUI. During this timeframe, he also played with Liquid Hustle, a mixed club team. After Indy, he spent a brief stint in Denver picking up with a few teams before settling Chicago where he played one season with Stackcats. Beyond helping coach Pritzker Ultimate, he is currently taking time off from the club season. In the real world, he is a professional number-cruncher (data analyst). Favorite tournament: Fool's Fest.
